The Mountain Home 12s swept through pool play Friday in the Cal Ripken 12-Year-Old Major/70 North Arkansas State Tournament in Springdale.
The 12s began by invoking the mercy rule in the fourth inning as they shut out Delta 14-0. Brady Barnett and Landon Luna combined for a no-hitter.
The 12s also invoked the mercy rule in the fourth inning of their second game as they blanked Piggott 18-0. Ky Bickford and Reece Ducker each pitched two innings, and a they gave up a total of two hits.
The Mountain Home Sharks had mixed results Friday in the Cal Ripken Nine-Year-Old North Arkansas State Tournament at Blytheville. The Sharks began by beating up on Jonesboro 20-1. They did not fare as well in the evening as they were doubled up by Batesville 10-5.
