Blue Devils get two wins in Babe Ruth state tourney

Mountain Home started the Babe Ruth 15-Year-Old North Arkansas State Tournament in strong fashion Saturday at the Equity Bank Sports Complex.

The Blue Devils invoked the mercy rule in the fifth inning of their first game as they routed Fort Smith 14-2. Satch Harris picked up the victory as he pitched four innings, struck out six batters and gave up four hits. Harris also led the Mountain Home offense with a home run and five RBIs.

The Blue Devils’ next game was also called after the fifth inning as they defeated Harrison 11-1. A total of four hits were allowed between Tanner Burnham and Trey Jordan. Mountain Home was led offensively by Will Gross with two hits and two RBIs.
