The Baxter County Quorum Court will meet in regular session Tuesday evening at six in the second floor courtroom of the courthouse.
Highlights of the 19-item agenda include ordinances calling for a special election in October for a sales and use tax levy to fund an expansion and maintenance of the Baxter County Detention Center. Other items, under new business, include ordinances adopting changes to the county personnel policy manual, appropriating over $10,000 in grant funding to the Clarkridge Volunteer Fire Department, and realigning over $146,000 into the 911 department budget.
In addition, the court will consider resolutions declaring a vacancy in the District Three Justice of the Peace position, supporting federal and state legislation ensuring sales tax collection from all online sales and for a grant application from Midway Industries. Appointments for consideration include Mike Hunter and David McQueen to the Hand Cove Fire Protection District Board of Commissioners and Terry Buchman to the Northeast Lakeside Fire Protection District Board.
