HOOVER, Ala. (AP) – It’s Nick Saban and Alabama’s turn at Southeastern
Conference media days. The contingent from the Crimson Tide, the popular pick to
win a fourth straight SEC title, makes the short trip from Tuscaloosa and as
usual is expected to be greeted by a large group of fans in the hotel lobby.

HOOVER, Ala. (AP) – Ed Orgeron matter of factly declared the SEC as “the best
conference in the United States.” But the LSU coach was mostly preaching to the
choir in the league’s backyard at the Southeastern Conference media days. The
SEC’s once-undisputed status as college football’s top league is facing strong
challenges from the ACC and Big Ten despite Alabama’s best efforts.
