An Izard County man, 34-year-old Benjamin Jacob Hinds of Oxford, has been arrested and charged with numerous felony offenses following a traffic stop in Calico Rock.
Izard County Chief Deputy Earnie Blackley says Hinds was a passenger in a vehicle driven by 39-year-old Davinda Ann Pennington of Calico Rock when it was stopped by a county deputy on Red Lane in Calico Rock on July 1.
Pennington was arrested for obstructing governmental operations and placed in the Izard County Detention Center with bond set at $865.
Hinds was arrested and charged with absconding, possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia with the purpose to use methamphetamine, possession of firearms by certain persons and criminal use of a prohibited weapon. He was taken to the Izard County Detention Center and held on a $50,000 bond. Hinds is scheduled to appear in Izard County Circuit Court later this month.
