HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) A central Arkansas city has approved a resolution that supports medical marijuana enterprises in the area.
The Sentinel-Record reports the Hot Springs Board of Directors unanimously adopted the resolution Tuesday after imposing a moratorium last month. The ban that was lifted last week halted medical marijuana dispensaries and cultivation facilities from receiving licenses and permits.
The board also amended the resolution to specify its support for charging the facilities “market competitive fees for construction and operation.”
City officials say the resolution shows Hot Springs welcomes the new enterprise.
According to data from the Arkansas Center for Health Improvement, more than 25,500 Garland County residents have a condition that qualifies for medical marijuana treatment.
