The Website schooldigger.com is out with its annual rankings of K through 12 schools based on test scores released by the Arkansas Department of Education.

The Salem School District made the top ten list, coming in at the number six ranking in the state.

Also among the top ten in North Central Arkansas was the Harrison School District in the number 9 position.

The next highest ranking area school was the Norfork School District at 19th.

The Cotter School District was ranked at 25th among the 248 districts across the state, according to schooldigger.com .

The next highest ranking local school was Mountain Home at 32nd. Superintendent Dr. Jake Long says the Mountain Home district has moved up 11 points over the previous year.

The Mountain View School District followed closely behind Mountain Home at the 33rd ranking.

The next highest ranking area school district was Melbourne in the 44th slot.

Viola came in next at 50th.

The next highest ranking area school district was Yellville-Summit at 86th.

Izard County Consolidated came in at 92nd.

The Flippin School District was ranked at 132nd.

Calico Rock was ranked at 147, while Jasper was at 163.

The final ranking among area school districts was the consolidated Ozark Mountain that includes Bruno-Pyatt, coming in at 171.
