Family was seeking help for teen, mom says

(AP) – The mother of a teenager shot to death by police outside a
youth shelter in eastern Arkansas says the family had been trying to get help
for her son because he was being disruptive.Vicky Clark’s son, 16-year-old Aries Clark, was fatally shot Tuesday night at
an emergency shelter for youth in Marion, about 10 miles (16 kilometers)
northwest of Memphis, Tennessee. Vicky Clark tells Memphis television station
WMC that family members were working on finding therapy options for her son, who
was a student at West Memphis High School.

Police have released no details about what led to the fatal shooting or why
officers were called to the shelter in the first place.

Marion Police Chief Gary Kelley tells the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that no
officers were hurt but that his department will not release any details while an
investigation into the shooting is underway.
