Cody Joe Haynes, who has listed addresses in both Flippin and Lowell in various jail and court records, was given four years probation after pleading guilty on drug and theft charges during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

In April, the 30-year-old Haynes was arrested after he was found hiding in the closet of the home of a parolee, Thomas Harvey, during a compliance visit by officers from Arkansas Community Corrections.

The officers found a substance which field-tested positive for methamphetamine, in the room where Haynes was hiding.

Haynes picked up theft of property charges in June after he was captured on video surveillance cameras stealing a cellphone from a vehicle.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the victim of the theft had left his vehicle to work on a radio/tv tower located along Skyline Drive. While the victim was inside the building at the base of the tower, a white Cadillac could be seen pulling up a dead end road near the tower.

A male, later identified as Haynes, is seen on the video getting out of the Cadillac and walking around the area. At one point, he went to the victim’s vehicle, reached inside and took an object out of the car. The object turned out to be the victim’s cellphone.

In addition to his time on probation, Haynes was ordered to pay $150 in restitution.
