The Humane Society of North Central Arkansas will host its Halloween fundraiser this weekend. The annual Howl-O-Ween is scheduled for Saturday evening from 4:30 to 9:00 at its location on Highway 201 North.
Activities for children 12-and-under will open the event and continue until 7:00. Kids’ games, balloons and face painting will be available for one dollar. The haunted trail and fortune teller are two dollars and run from 5:30 to 6:30, and the children’s costume contest will start at 5:00 for a cost of three dollars. A dog costume contest will follow at 5:30.
Another haunted trail will be open for ages 13-and-older. The guided tour costs five dollars and will have groups of eight to ten people.
Food and beverages will be available from 5:00 to 8:00. Hot dogs, chips and drinks cost four dollars, and an extra dollar will be added if the hot dog includes chili. Hot chocolate, coffee and soda will be available separately for one dollar.
Other opportunities to assist the Humane Society will be available during Saturday’s event. An auction will get underway at 6:00, and Howl-O-Ween will also feature a bake sale.
The Humane Society’s Carolyn Carter and Shawn Pope were recent guests of the Talk of the Town on KTLO-FM. They said for anyone unable to attend the Howl-O-Ween, there are always other opportunities to help the Humane Society.
