
A Summit man, 23-year-old Kennneth Godat, entered a guilty plea Monday in Marion County Circuit Court to a felony charge of domestic battery involving a then 17-week pregnant woman.According to CourtConnect records from the Administrative Office of the Courts, Godat appeared before Judge John Putman and entered his negotiated plea. Records indicate the second degree battery charge was negotiated to third degree. Both are felony offenses. Godat has not been sentenced.
His arrest follows an incident in August at a residence along Emanuel Street in Summit.
According to a statement taken at the scene, Godat was alleged to have slapped the pregnant female in the face and pushed her to the ground. Once the female was on the ground, Godat was alleged to have kicked her in the stomach. The female had scratches and bruises on both shoulders and a large abrasion and bruising to her right temple/face area.
Godat remains incarcerated in the Marion County Detention Center.
