Jesse Ray Bowman, who listed a Norfork address the last time he was arrested, changed his plea to guilty on a number of drug-related charges and traffic infractions and was given six years in prison during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

The 26-year-old Bowman was arrested in mid-May when an Arkansas State Police Trooper pulled his vehicle over in the Briarcliff area for displaying fictitious tags.

Prior to the stop, the trooper noticed something being tossed out of Bowman’s vehicle and landing in a grassy area beside the road.

The trooper located the small bag that he had seen being tossed out. In the probable cause affidavit, the trooper reported finding drugs and drug paraphernalia in the bag.

In addition to prison time, Bowman forfeited about $260 in cash found in his wallet to the state.
