Barford’s career best leads Arkansas to second straight rout

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP)   Jaylen Barford scored a career-high 27 points to lead Arkansas to its second straight dominating performance and a 101-73 win over Bucknell on Sunday.

Barford hit 9 of his first 10 shots and finished 10 of 15 from the field for the Razorbacks (2-0), who opened their season on Friday with a 95-56 win over Samford. The senior’s previous best was a 23-point effort against South Carolina last season.

Daryl Macon added 21 points and hit 3 of 6 3-pointers for Arkansas, while 6-foot-11 freshman Daniel Gafford scored 15 points in only 16 minutes before fouling out for a second straight game. Gafford was 5 of 7 from the field, and the Razorbacks hit 53.5 percent (38 of 71) of their shots overall.

Zach Thomas led the Bison (0-2) with 24 points and 10 rebounds, and Nana Foulland had 17 points. Stephen Brown added 13 points and 9 assists for Bucknell.
