
Basketball and swimming make up the local Monday schedule.
It’s the season opener for the Mountain Home High School boys’ basketball team. The Bombers will start the year in front of the home crowd as they welcome Paragould to the Twin Lakes Area.
Mountain Home is coming off a season in which they finished with a record of 10-18. The Bombers wrapped up the year with a loss at Pine Bluff in the consolation semifinals of the 6A-East Conference Tournament.
This will be the second year for Mountain Home to be under the direction of head coach Josh Fulcher, and he says he one of the things he learned from last year is the importance of varsity experience.

The freshmen game tips off at 5 p.m. to be followed by the junior varsity game. The varsity contest will begin around 7:15 and can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.
Elsewhere, the Arvest Bank Tournament continues at Flippin with games tipping off at 3:30 in the new and old gyms.
In other high school basketball, St. Joe travels to Alpena, and Bakersfield will host its Blue-White Games with a pie auction included.
On the junior high level, Mountain View makes the trip to Heber Springs, Rural Special heads to South Side-Bee Branch, and Lead Hill entertains Omaha.
Mountain Home’s eighth grade boys will be in Branson to compete in the annual Pirate Classic. The Eighth Grade Bombers will meet Logan-Rogersville for a 5:00 tip-off.
The Mountain Home High School swim team will be on the road as they take part in a meet at Pocahontas. Action begins at 5:00.
