FRC Team 16, also known as the Baxter Bomb Squad, ended its time in Little Rock Saturday on a strong note. With help from two teams in its alliance, the Bomb Squad finished as regional winners in the Arkansas Rock City Regional FIRST Robotics Competition at Barton Coliseum.

The Bomb Squad competed against 55 teams from eight states and Mexico. The team’s robot, Stratofortress, played a total of ten qualifying matches with a 7-3 record and was ranked second at the end of the qualification rounds.

During the alliance selection for the elimination tournament, the Bomb Squad accepted an invitation from top-ranked Black Hawk Robotics of Heath, Texas. The two teams later completed the alliance by inviting another Arkansas team, MVE Tin Man from Mount Vernon. The three teams combined for the regional title. The Bomb Squad also received the Quality Award for its design of Stratofortress.

The Baxter Bomb Squad will next compete in the Midwest Regional at Chicago. For more information about the team, go online to frcteam16.org.
