
The Fulton County Fair Association and the Salem Chamber of Commerce will sponsor this year’s Ozarks Sports & Outdoor Expo on March 24th at the Fulton County Fairgrounds in Salem.
Both indoor and outdoor vendor space is available to rent. Indoor spaces will be in the Salem Civic Center and outdoor space will be located in the area surrounding the civic center. Event officials encourage sports and outdoor-related vendors to reserve space now to be a part of the event.
A full day of activities, competitions, and seminars for both youth and adults will be held, beginning with the Fishing Derby at the Salem City Lake. Registration for the derby starts in the morning at 8:00 and the qualifying round for the 3D Archery Shoot in the Walling Livestock Center begins at 9:00.
Other activities and competitions include an open trap shoot held at the Fulton County Trap Range at 9:00, a school and Youth Shooting Club competition, The Spring River Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation turkey calling contest at 3:00 in the Civic Center, and a Hoverball Archery Game for kids, put on by the Arkansas Bowhunters Association, and the Izard County Stickshooters. Seminars begin in the morning at 10:00 in the Hickinbotham-Miller Exhibit Building on the Fairgrounds, starting with featured speaker Janet Carson, Director of the Arkansas Master Gardener Program. Food vendors will be on site to provide food service throughout the day.
