A Yellville man, 45-year-old Thomas Wilson, has been charged with a felony offense of failure to comply with sex offender reporting requirements following a conversation with a Marion County sheriff’s deputy.
According to the probable cause affidavit, a Marion County sheriff’s deputy was outside the law enforcement building March 9th when Wilson pulled into the parking lot. Wilson exited the vehicle and began talking with the deputy.
The deputy noted in the affidavit he knew Wilson was a registered sex offender. After he left the sheriff’s office, the deputy checked Wilson’s file for vehicles registered to him. Finding no registrations, he then checked on the status of his driver’s license and discovered it was suspended. The address on his suspended license was not the same as the one in Wilson’s sex registration file.
In addition the to the felony count, Wilson was charged with a misdemeanor offense of driving with a suspended license.
Bond was set at $5,000.
