Tuesday is the deadline for candidates to file for the August 7th primary election. The Ozark County Times reports County office positions include presiding county commissioner, county clerk, county collector, county treasurer, clerk of circuit court/recorder of deeds, prosecuting attorney and associate circuit judge. The position of 44th Judicial Circuit judge is also open. The appointed judge serves Ozark, Douglas and Wright counties.For information about filing for county office, call the Ozark County Clerks office at 679-3516. The office will be open until 5:00 Tuesday evening.
State offices to be voted on in the August primary include state auditor and the Missouri House of Representatives District 155 seat held by Lyle Rowland. Federal offices to be voted on include the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Claire McCaskill and the Congressional District 8 seat held by Jason Smith.
