
April is National Volunteer Month for the American Red Cross and eligible donors are encouraged by to give blood. Upcoming donation opportunities are from April 16th through the 30th.
Locations in Baxter County include St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church on April 17th, Baxter Regional Medical Center on April 18th, and the Mountain Home Blood Donation Center on April 16th and April 18th through the end of the month.
Other locations in the listening area include Marshall High School in Searcy County on April 16th, Yellville First United Methodist Church in Marion County on April 18th, Mammoth Spring High School in Fulton County on April 26th, and Bergman Church of Christ in Boone County on April 27th,
Donating blood is a simple way for those who are short on time to make a life-changing difference. Volunteer donors are the only source of blood products for those in need of transfusions. Donors of all blood types are needed to help meet patient needs this spring.
Make an appointment to donate blood by downloading the free Red Cross Blood Donor app, visiting RedCrossBlood.org, or by calling 1-800-733-2767. A blood donor’s card or drivers license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age, 16 with parent consent, weigh at least 110 pounds, and are in generally good health are eligible to donate.
