Credit: Marta SzczesniakNewly minted Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Justin Hayward of The Moody Blues has announced plans to return to the U.S. in the late summer for a new series of solo concerts.
The trek kicks off August 4 in Plymouth, New Hampshire, and is plotted out through a September 9 show in Santa Clarita, California. The outing includes a pair on two-night stands: August 14-15 in Sellersville, Pennsylvania, and August 16-17 in New York City.
Prior to the stateside tour, from April 23 through June 3, Hayward will play a late-spring European trek featuring dates in the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany and the U.K.
After he wraps up his solo itinerary, Hayward will rejoin The Moody Blues for their previously announced nine-date fall Las Vegas residency at the Wynn Resort and Casino. That runs from September 19 until October 6.
In other Moody Blues news, this Saturday, in conjunction with Record Store Day, the band will be releasing a limited-edition 12-inch, blue-and-white vinyl single featuring three live performances recorded in 2017.
The disc includes renditions of “Say It with Love,” “The Story in Your Eyes” and “Steppin’ in a Slide Zone.” The tracks were captured at the same Toronto concert documented in the The Moodies’ recent Days of Future Passed Live releases.
