Ritchie Blackmore's Blackmore's Night to hit the road for July tour

Peter SticklerRainbow fans in need of a live fix, take note: Ritchie Blackmore will be hitting the road in July for a short string of dates with his wife, Candice Night, and their long-standing band, Blackmore’s Night.

The couple and their supporting group play what’s described as “a mix of acoustic [and] electric Renaissance-styled and troubadour folk music with fantasy-themed lyrics” and have done so for 20 years, with 10 studio albums to their credit.

This time out, the band promises to “transport the listener to an old world style tavern, inviting everyone to leave their modern day stress at the door and join along with the festivities.”

Said festivities will take place at the following locations and dates:

7/19 — Glenside, PA, Keswick Theatre
7/21 –- Northampton, MA, Academy of Music
7/22 –- Huntington, NY, The Paramount
7/25 –- Washington, DC, Lincoln Theatre
7/26 –- Jim Thorpe, PA, Penns Peak
7/28 –- Ridgefield, CT, Ridgefield Playhouse
7/29 –- Montclair, NJ, The Wellmont
