It was a doubly sweet night for the Mountain Home High School soccer teams Thursday night at home. They both wrapped up 6A/5A-2 District championships and they both did it by avenging earlier losses to Searcy.
The Lady Bombers were 2-0 winners. Emma Jones and Sabra Wickersham both scored goals for the Lady Bombers.
Mountain Home improves to 13-3-2 overall and 11-1 in district play.
The Bombers were also 2-0 winners. Ewan Platt scored two goals, Seokwoo Choi had two assists and Paul Athicomnanta added an assist as Mountain Home out-shot the Lions 23-7. Joseph McCoy had five goal saves.
The Bombers improve to 14-1 overall and 11-1 in district play. It’s the third year in a row Mountain Home has won a conference or district title.
