Baseball and softball make up part of the local Friday schedule as postseason play continues in Arkansas.
The 1A-2 North Conference Baseball Tournament will get underway at Viola after being delayed one day. Norfork and Izard County start at noon with the winner playing the host Longhorns at 4:00. Mammoth Spring faces Calico Rock at 2:00, and the winner gets Hillcrest at 6:00.
Flippin will be in Salem for its first game in the 2A-2 Conference Tournament. The Bobcats meet East Poinsett County at 6:30.
The semifinals of the 3A-1 East Conference Tournament will be held at the Equity Bank Sports Complex in Harrison. Yellville-Summit takes on Valley Springs, and Melbourne plays Clinton. Both games are set for 4:00.
Bruno-Pyatt will go to Lead Hill for its first game in the 1A-1 East Conference Tournament. The Patriots will be paired with Shirley at 2:30.
Elsewhere, Bakersfield travels to Willow Springs, and Dora hosts Houston.
Two local softball teams will be in Salem for their first games in the 2A-2 Conference Tournament. Cotter will play at 4:00, and Flippin takes the field at 5:30.
Yellville-Summit’s softball team will resume action in the 3A-1 East Conferent Tournament at Harrison. The Lady Panthers meet Clinton at 6:00.
