Lendal and Tammy Erby of Viola have been chosen for the Fulton County Farm Family award for 2018.Areawide Media reports the Erbys operate a feeder calf operation of 300 head and have been in the farming industry for nearly 40 years. Their goal is to be able to live off the farm. They currently work five months out of the year away from home, boiler making.

Lendal and Tammy are originally from Stone County, where they began their adventure in farming.

The Erbys have learned many different practices in nearly 40 years of farming. They have utilized various programs and even operated different farms. During this time and through experiences, they have learned how to do nearly every aspect of farming themselves, and not hire out for many jobs. When it comes to doctoring their cattle or working on equipment, they are self-sufficient and, most of the time, are able to do it themselves.

The Erbys are also members of Viola First Baptist Church.
