
The Fulton County Fair Foundation announces $1,000 scholarships have been awarded to five graduating seniors who are active in the county, district and state fairs.The five students chosen were Sydney Brown of Viola, Emma Ragsdale of Mammorth Spring, Jared Alexander of Mammoth Spring, Kaitlyn Blevins of Viola and Caleb Huett.
Sydney Brown
Sydney Brown of Viola graduated as valedictorian from the Calico Rock High School and plans to attend Harding University at Searcy in August. Brown has exhibited in the Fulton County Fair in the livestock and creative arts departments for 10 years, in the North Central Arkansas District Fair for nine years and the Arkansas State Fair for nine years. She is a Fulton County Fair Ambassador.
Emma Ragsdale
Emma Ragsdale of Mammoth Spring graduated from Mammoth Spring High School and was the valedictorian of her class. She has exhibited in the Fulton County Fair for seven years and in the North Central Arkansas District Fair for five years. Ragsdale is a Fulton County Fair Ambassador. She joined the Mammoth Spring Livestock Show Team, the start of her passion of animals instilling a desire to be a veterinarian. She will attend Arkansas State University at Jonesboro this fall.

Jared Alexander
Jared Alexander was the salutatorian of the Mammoth Spring senior class and plans to attend North Arkansas Community College at Harrison and then Cox College in Springfield to become a radiation therapist. Alexander has shown in the livestock department at the Fulton County Fair for four years and at the North Central Arkansas District Livestock Show for three years. He is a member of the Mammoth Spring Show Team and is very active in his community volunteering for the St. Jude radiothon each year and other community projects.

Kaitlyn Blevins
Kaitlyn Blevins is a graduate of Viola High School plans a career in nursing. She is enrolled in Ozarka College taking her basic courses for her degree. She has served as a Fulton County Fair Ambassador for three years and has exhibited in the Fulton County Fair for four years, the North Central Arkansas District Fair for three years and the Arkansas State Fair for two years. She is a member of the Loyal Longhorns 4-H Club, Captain of the Cheer Team and a member of the Viola Trap Shooting Team.
Caleb Huett
Caleb Huett recently graduated from Huett Home School and received 16 hours of college credit at Ozarka College where he is pursuing a career as a commercial pilot. He has exhibited in the livestock and creative arts department for 12 years and is a Fulton County Fair Ambassador. He is a member of the Viola Loyal Longhorns 4-H Club and a member of the Fulton County Robotics Team and has donated numerous community service hours to the Fulton County Fair and received the Modern Woodmen Youth Community Service Award. He is a Civil Air Patrol Cadet and has received his pilots license from Ozarka College.
The scholarships are funded by a decorated cookie jar auction at the fair each year and by donations.
