Michael Trucks of Gassville was put on probation for four years after entering a guilty plea to stealing and using his grandmother’s debit/credit card to make various transactions worth almost $1,800.
The plea and sentencing came during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the debit/credit card had been used in various ways 42 times between July 2016 and March 2017. When he was interviewed, the 20-year-old Trucks admitted he had used the grandmother’s account for various online transactions without her permission.
In addition to probation, Trucks was ordered to pay almost $1,800 in restitution.
As he was sentencing Trucks, Judge John Putman asked him if he had committed the acts for which he was charged. After Trucks admitted he had, Judge Putman told him he should be ashamed of taking advantage of his older relative.
