As the search continues for a Harrison couple who was swept away during a flash flood over six weeks ago, testing of tissue samples found during the search is continuing. There have been no signs of John and Amy Villines since the incident.

According to KOLR of Springfield, new Harrison Police Chief Chris Graddy says two tissue samples were found early on in the search and sent to the state crime lab to determine if any DNA can be found. One sample was not viable, and it’s still not known if the good sample is human or animal tissue.

Chief Graddy says Lake Harrison has been 75 percent drained as they search for the couple. The city has spent $32,000 of the $400,000 the council approved to use on the search.

Graddy says the search will continue, and they believe it was just a tragic accident.
