Hour-long police chase in Stone County leads to 2 arrests

Two people are behind bars following an hour-long, high-speed pursuit that started in Stone County Monday night. According to the Stone County Sheriff's Office, a man allegedly ran over someone at a convenience store in Mountain View, which started the chase.

The incident began about 10:50 Monday night when 25-year-old Cody Patrick Neal Brackett allegedly struck someone at the Circle K with his vehicle. The pursuit ended just over an hour later in Cleburne County, when Arkansas State Police deployed spike strips to disable Brackett's vehicle. He fled on foot but was apprehended a short time later.

A person in the car with Brackett, 19-year-old Elisha Rose, was also arrested. No charges are listed on the sheriff's website for her. At this time, Brackett is being held on a probable cause detainer. He was wanted on several warrants. Charges from Monday night's incident are pending.

The person who was struck by the car was taken to White River Medical Center in Batesville with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The Stone County Sheriff's Office was assisted in the pursuit and arrests by the Mountain View Police Department, Cleburne County Sheriff's Office and the Arkansas State Police.
