Suspect in Clark County murder arrested in Searcy County

One of three people facing first-degree murder charges in the death of a man near Hot Springs has been captured in Searcy County.

Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell says his agency learned Brock Henthorn of Amity was wanted on a probation violation and was at a residence on Frolic Lane on Jan. 24th. Amity is 33 miles southwest of Hot Springs.

Sheriff Cassell contacted Clark County Sheriff Jason Watson and learned Henthorn was also being sought in an active homicide investigation. Earlier that day, the body of 58-year-old John Ratton was discovered in Amity.

Sheriff Cassell says officers and agents from his department, Arkansas Community Correction Special Response Team, Arkansas State Police, Arkansas Community Corrections and the North Central K-9 Team descended on the residence on Frolic Lane.

Henthorn was contacted via telephone and given instructions to exit the residence. He was arrested without incident and transported to the Searcy County Detention Center for holding.

The three suspects have since made an initial court appearance in Clark County. Ratton’s body was sent to the state medical examiner, and the investigation is continuing.
