A felony charge of sexual indecency with a child filed against a Greenbrier teen has been amended to a misdemeanor, and he has been released from jail.
Nineteen-year-old Tyler Wade Pickett was arrested Jan. 30th and set free seven days later.
The arrest was made by a Mountain Home Police officer who saw a vehicle parked behind a car wash in what was described as an "unusual manner." When the officer made contact with the driver -- identified as Pickett -- he reported the teen appeared nervous and anxious. A female passenger, described as being 14 years old, was said to be both young and scared.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed in the case, Pickett is alleged to have admitted having some physical contact with the girl.
Fourteenth Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney David Ethredge said Thursday he had reviewed the case and determined the evidence did not support the original and more serious charge, and it was amended to a misdemeanor to more accurately reflect the circumstances.
