Attempt to sell reported stolen trailer for dozer leads to arrest

An attempt to sell a trailer reported stolen in Branson has led to the arrest of a Boone County man, 37-year-old Cody Evans of Lead Hill.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed Wednesday in Fulton County, law enforcement were alerted by an investigator with the Arkansas State Police that an individual identified as Evans had allegedly tried to trade the construction trailer for a dozer.

Officers found the trailer hooked to a semi truck owned by Evans’ father. Evans reportedly told law enforcement the trailer was dropped off at his residence that morning, and he was just trying to trade it for a dozer. He said he did not know the guy who dropped off the trailer valued at $22,000.

Evans has been charged with a felony count of theft by receiving. His bond was set at a$2,000.
