The body of a rural Pyatt man was found during the weekend after what appeared to be a fatal tractor accident. According to Marion County Sheriff Clinton Evans, the body of 64-year-old Bobby Richardson was located Sunday nearly 20 feet from his tractor.

Sheriff Evans says his office received a call Sunday from a concerned citizen requesting a welfare check at a residence on Marion County Road 3012 in the rural Pyatt area. The citizen normally speaks with Richardson a couple of times each day but had not heard from him since around 2:00 Saturday afternoon. The caller also stated Richardson spends a lot of time on the property on his ATV or tractor.

Deputies responded to Richardson’s residence but couldn’t locate him. Richardson’s vehicle was in the driveway, but his tractor was missing. Deputies then located Richardson’s dog at a gate to his property north of the residence and walked onto the property looking for him.

Deputies evenutally found the tractor down an embankment and overturned nearly 200 yards from the county road, and Richardson’s body was later recovered. Sheriff Evans says the tractor is believed to have overturned ejecting Richardson and causing fatal injuries.

The Marion County Coroner was requested at the scene and took possession of Richardson’s body. Pyatt First Responders also assisted on the scene.
