Early voting begins Tuesday in advance of a special election set for March 12th, as the Norfork School District seeks an increase in its millage rate.
Superintendent Mike Seay told KTLO, Classic Hits and the The Boot news late last year the district is seeking a three-mill increase to meet budget shortfalls.
The district’s current millage rate stands at 34.39, below the state average of 38.33 mills.
Early voting begins Tuesday morning at 8:00 at the Baxter County Courthouse and continues until 4:30 through next Monday, excluding the weekend.
On Election Day, March 12th, registered voters in the Norfork School District can cast their ballots at one of three vote centers, Lone Rock Baptist Church, Norfork Baptist Church and the Salesville Community Center.
Polls will be open on Election Day from 7:30 until 7:30.
