A Facebook video is being credited in assisting law enforcement with the arrest of a Searcy County man, Zachariah M. Worley of Marshall, who has been charged for allegedly assaulting a family member.
Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell says according to the affidavit in the case, the Facebook video allegedly reflects the victim telling Worley to leave her house. After Worley walks to the door, he turns and walks back to the victim, swings his right hand and knocks the cellphone from her hand.
Cassell says although it is unclear from the video if Worley struck the victim, there was an apprehension of imminent physical injury. At one point, contact was attempted with the victim. However, she did not provide a statement to law enforcement.
Worley is charged with third-degree assault on a family or household member, a Class C misdemeanor.
Cassell says Worley turned himself into the Searcy County Sheriff's Department Tuesday where he was processed and booked. He has since posted bond and is set to appear in district court in April.
