Community mourns death of MHPD investigator

The community is mourning the death of a member of the Mountain Home Police Department. Chief Carry Manuel says Sergeant Chris Steele died unexpectedly Tuesday evening.

Steele started with the Mountain Home Police Department in the patrol division. He was transferred to the criminal investigation division and became the department's first full-time narcotics investigator.

Steele  was recognized as the department's officer of the year in 2018.

Chris Steele was 44.

No funeral arrangements have been announced.
