ABC/Image Group LATim McGraw will soon be able to add “historical author” to his resume. The “Thought About You” hitmaker has co-written a new book with Pulitzer-Prize-winning presidential historian Jon Meacham.
In Songs of America: Patriotism, Protest, and the Music That Made a Nation, the two trace U.S. history through the lens of music. While Meacham provides a historical focus on events like the American Revolution and Vietnam, McGraw looks at the corresponding music through the eyes of an artist.
You can read Tim’s take on songs like “The Star Spangled Banner” and “Born in the U.S.A” come June 11.
It’s the first of two book projects Tim will put out this year. Grit & Grace: Train the Mind, Train the Body, Own Your Life — his fitness volume — is due November 5.
