Baseball and softball dominate the local Friday sports schedule.
The Mountain Home High School baseball team continues its home stand as they welcome Fayetteville to McClain Park. The varsity game begins at 4 p.m. on Pitts Field followed by the junior varsity contest.
Gainesville will be in Conway for its opener in the Hartville Baseball Tournament. The Bulldogs meet Crane at 4:15.
Two area teams will be at the Equity Bank Sports Complex in Harrison to begin the Ozark Baseball Classic. Bergman faces Elkins, and Valley Springs takes on Fredericktown, Missouri, and Omaha plays Cedar Ridge.
Elsewhere, Cotter travels to Flippin, Yellville-Summit hosts Mountain View, Ozark Mountain entertains Alpena, Dora is home against Mountain Grove, Viola hosts Lead Hill, Mammoth Spring makes the short trip to Thayer, Marshall heads to Berryville, and Jasper entertains Green Forest.
Gainesville will begin its two-day run in the Sparta Lady Trojans Softball Classic. The Lady Bulldogs will be paired with Hurley at 5:30.
In other high school softball, Cotter travels to Flippin, Dora makes the trip to Doniphan, Viola is home against Lead Hill, and Omaha heads to Jasper.
