Listen to Billie Joe Armstrong sing with Morrissey for upcoming covers album

ABC/Heidi GutmanBillie Joe Armstrong unites with Morrissey for a cover of the ’60s hit “Wedding Bell Blues,” originally recorded by Laura Nyro and popularized by pop vocal group the 5th Dimension.

The Green Day frontman provides backing vocals on the track, which also features Lydia Night of the punk band The Regrettes. You can download it now via digital outlets.

“Wedding Bell Blues” will appear on Morrissey’ upcoming covers album California Son, due out May 24. The ex-Smiths frontman will be supporting the album during on Broadway residency in New York City, kicking off May 2.

Armstrong, meanwhile, is releasing a new book with his Green Day band mates called Last of the American Girls, based on the punk trio’s 2009 single of the same name. It’ll hit shelves October 29.
