The Israeli paper Haaretz reports that the Queen of Pop will perform in Tel Aviv next month, as part of the finals of the Eurovision Song Contest, an international singing competition.

The publication says Madonna will perform one of her previous hits and a new song, even though she and the producers have been going back and forth because the new song has “political messages.”

As the paper notes, Madonna has previously performed in Israel three times: 1993, 2009, and 2012.

Haaretz reports that bringing Madonna and her 160-person entourage to Israel will cost $1 million, the cost of which is going to be paid by billionaire businessman Sylvan Adams.

The Eurovision Song Contest, which has been running since 1956, involves member countries of the European Broadcasting Union — which currently number around 50 — submitting an original song to be performed on live TV. Each country then votes for the other countries’ songs to pick the winner.  Past winners of the competition include ABBA and Celine Dion.
