If you can’t stop thinking about the haunting song Keith Urban sang at the Academy of Country Music Awards, you can stream or download “Burden” now

The CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year explains how he discovered the tune.

“It’s a song written by Foy Vance, who’s an incredible singer/songwriter from Ireland that — I knew about, but I didn’t know a lot about,” Keith says. “And I fell upon that song, ‘Burden,’ and it just floored me. I just thought it was the most beautiful, simple, honest prayer of a song.”

Though “Burden” isn’t Keith’s single in the traditional sense, the Aussie superstar says he couldn’t wait to get into the studio to record it.

“I was compelled to try and get in the studio and capture the way I felt about it and what it meant to me,” he explains. “And it wasn’t intended to be a single or any of the traditional things, it was just something I felt very passionate about and wanted to capture and perform.”

“And I think that’s the great thing about 2019,” Keith adds, “is we can do that as artists. We can be moved by something, capture it, and then immediately put it out, without sort of labeling what it is.”

Keith is set to play festivals this summer, but also revealed he’s already itching to get into the studio to work on his follow-up to Graffiti U, and also plan his next tour.
