Mountain Home School Board approves improvement projects

The Mountain Home School Board, meeting in a special session Monday evening, approved a number of facility improvement projects at an estimated cost of just over $670,000. The work will be done during the summer.

The projects include replacing the fencing around Bomber Stadium, paving the parking lot at Pinkston Middle School, upgrades to the playground at Hackler Intermediate School and sealing the parking lot at the junior high, along with painting and other remodeling work at several buildings.

Also during the meeting, Superintendent Long updated the board on strategic planning for the district. One of the items was how the district is doing with the increased emphasis placed on reading at the younger grade levels this year.
