Columbia Records; Courtesy of Heaven’s Door SpiritsNashville Skyline, Bob Dylan‘s first full-length foray into country music, was released 50 years ago today, and in honor of the anniversary, the Heaven’s Door Spirits whiskey brand, which Dylan launched in 2018, has announced plans to open a complex featuring a distillery and arts center in Music City.

The Heaven’s Door Distillery and Center for the Arts will be located in downtown Nashville, and is expected to open in the fall of 2020. In addition to a craft distillery, the complex, housed in a renovated 160-year-old church, will feature a restaurant, a whiskey library and a concert venue featuring 360 seats.

Paintings and metalwork sculpture created by Dylan also will be on display at the distillery and arts center and guided tours will be offered.

Bob recorded Nashville Skyline with a group of renowned studio musicians in Nashville. The album reached #3 on the Billboard 200, and featured one of Dylan’s highest-charting singles: “Lay Lady Lay,” which peaked at #7 in the Billboard Hot 100.

Other standout tracks on the record include “Tonight I’ll Be Staying Here with You” and a duet version of Bob’s 1963 folk tune “Girl from the North Country” featuring Johnny Cash.

Four varieties of Heaven’s Door whiskey are currently available in liquor stores across the U.S. and online via ReserveBar.com. Visit HeavensDoor.com for more details.
