Kansas, Doobie Brothers, Lionel Richie playing Memphis' 2019 “Live at the Garden” summer concert series

Courtesy of Live at the GardenThe lineup has been announced for the 19th annual Live at the Garden summer concert series, which takes place at the Memphis Botanic Garden in Memphis, Tennessee. Shows by Kansas, The Doobie Brothers and Lionel Richie are among the five headlining events confirmed for the series.

Kansas will kick things off on June 6, The Doobies are slated to rock the garden on July 13 and Richie will perform on August 2. The concert series also will feature country stars Toby Keith and Brett Young, respectively, on August 31 and September 14.

The venue offers table seating for 2,500 people, while an additional 4,500 concert-goers can enjoy the shows from the lawn. Season lawn passes are available now, while individual tickets will go on sale on April 26 at 10 a.m. local time.

Among the many other artists who have played Live at the Garden shows over the years are Pat Benatar, Chicago, Al Green, Styx, Hall & Oates, Heart, Duran Duran, Crosby, Stills & Nash, ZZ Top, Boston, Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, Steve Miller Band and Gregg Allman. The Doobie Brothers were previously part of the 2009 lineup.

In related news, ex-Styx singer/keyboardist Dennis DeYoung will headline the garden’s fourth annual Summer Symphony, scheduled for May 24. DeYoung will play a set of classic Styx tunes accompanied by the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. Tickets for the show are on sale now.
