Queen‘s Brian May has contributed a guest guitar solo to a new version of Las Vegas heavy-metal band Five Finger Death Punch‘s recent cover of Kenny Wayne Shepherd’s 1997 blues-rock hit “Blue on Black.”
The updated recording also features guest vocals from country star Brantley Gilbert and Shepherd himself. You can download it now via digital outlets.
May, Gilbert and Shepherd also appear in a new video for “Blue on Black,” featuring footage of firefighters, police officers and other first responders. Proceeds from the collaborative cover will be donated to the Gary Sinise Foundation in support of veterans, first responders and their families. May set up a special video shoot capturing him playing his solo that was incorporated into the clip.
Sinise, who played Lieutenant Dan in the Oscar-winning 1994 movie Forrest Gump, is a major supporter of veterans organizations.
Five Finger Death Punch’s original cover of “Blue on Black” appears on their latest album, 2018’s And Justice for None.
