Bull Shoals woman charged with using Facebook Pay to steal money from ex-boyfriend

A Bull Shoals women has been arrested for allegedly using Facebook Pay to steal money from her ex-boyfriend. Twenty-three-year-old Lorin Branstetter is facing multiple felony charges in connection with the case.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the victim contacted Mountain Home police after he tried to use his debit card, and it was declined. He checked his bank account and discovered six different transactions completed via Facebook Pay totaling $180 that he did not make.

Investigators determined Branstetter had allegedly made the transactions by sending the money to a friend who then sent the money back to her. Branstetter said in a message to the friend she had told her ex-boyfriend she had removed his banking information from her Facebook Messenger account, but had not actually done it.

Branstetter is charged with six felony counts of forgery and a misdemeanor count of theft of property. Her bond is set at $2,500.
