MH freshmen finish Springfield tourney with 2 wins

The Mountain Home freshmen baseball team wrapped up tournament play with a pair of wins Saturday in Springfield.

The Junior Bombers began the day with a 9-3 victory over West Plains. Reed Ellison picked up the win as he pitched all six innings, struck out six batters and gave up four hits, no walks and one earned run. Will Beckham led the Mountain Home offense with two hits, a walk, a run and an RBI; Trent Jordan provided a hit, walked twice, scored a run and drove in two more; and Dodge Harris added a hit, two walks and two runs.

The Junior Bombers later wrapped up the day with a 9-5 win over Joplin. Jordan was the winning pitcher with four innings, 11 strikeouts, three hits, three walks and four earned runs. Mountain Home was led by Ellison with two hits, two runs and two RBIs; Beckham had two hits, a run and an RBI; Isaac House finished with a hit, scored a run and drove in two more; and Keegan Rickman chipped in with a hit, a walk and three runs.
