A local high school athlete has been given one of the country’s highest honors. Dora sophomore Bryson Luna has been selected to the Perfect Game/Rawlings Preseason All-American baseball team.

According to the Ozark County Times, Luna was picked as a “high honorable” mention in the Underclass All-American team recognizing the United States’ top freshmen, sophomore and junior high school baseball players. His selection was based on his performance during 16-day two-tournament-plus-drills events in each of the last two summers in Atlanta. During the events, Luna’s top pitch was an 81-mph fastball putting him in the 76th percentile of those participating. His top outfield throw in 2017 was 75 mph putting him in the 75th percentile. Bryson’s dad and Dora head coach Rick Luna says he’s been clocked at 85 mph in other events from the outfield.

Luna and his triplet brothers, Mason and Auston, are part of a Dora team that’s currently 10-1 on the season. His favorite position is third base, but he also pitches and catches for the Falcons.

The Luna triplets are also members of Dora’s high school basketball team. The Falcons finished this season as the Class 1 state runners-up with a record of 30-2.
