Mountain Home baseball moves closer to conference title with double header sweep of Marion

The Mountain Home High School baseball team moved closer to claiming the 5A East Conference championship with a double header sweep of Marion at home Tuesday.

The Bombers won the first game 5-2. Will Gross went the distance on the mound, allowing four hits while striking out five. Luke Kruse had two hits and Josh Prinner drove in a pair of runs.

In the second game, Mountain Home downed Marion 9-5. With the game tied in the sixth inning, the Bombers scored five runs highlighted by Luke Jackson’s two-run double. Satch Harris got the win, working three innings in relief with four strikouts and just two hits allowed. Garrett Steelman, Asa Smith and Luke Dibble each had two hits.

The Bombers up their record to 17-4 overall and 11-1 in the 5A East.

Mountain Home will travel to Rogers Friday.
