One of the premier fishing organizations in the country has brought two amateur tournaments to the Twin Lakes Area. As part of the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (B.A.S.S.), the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series presented by Bass Pro Shops will hold its next event Thursday through Saturday on Bull Shoals Lake, and the Mossy Oak Fishing Bassmaster High School Central Open presented by Academy Sports and Outdoors is scheduled for Sunday on Norfork Lake.

Arkansas State University-Mountain Home will field two teams to compete in the collegiate event. One team will pair Mountain Home residents Cheston Jones and Addison Mahan, and the other team will feature Christopher Burkhart of Mountain Home and Colton Shipman of Oakland.

The boats for the college tournament will launch at 6:30 each morning at Bull Shoals Lake Boat Dock and return at 2:30 for weigh-ins. Weigh-ins can be viewed live by clicking here.

The Carhartt Bassmaster College Series allows anglers to compete in one of five regionals and in a wild card tournament for the opportunity to advance to the national championship. From there, one college angler earns a berth in the sport’s biggest tournament, the Bassmaster Classic.

Anglers competing in the high school event will check in Saturday from 11 until 3 at Mountain Home High School Career Academies, and a briefing will be held following the final college weigh-in. Anglers will launch from Quarry Marina north of Salesville Sunday morning at 6:30 and return at 2:30 for weigh-ins. Tournament results and statistics can be viewed by clicking here.

Information on both series can be found by going to bassmaster.com.
