Courtesy of Glass Onyon PRVeteran U.K. prog-folk band The Strawbs will be marking their 50th anniversary this weekend with a star-studded, three-show celebration at the Strand Theater in Lakewood, New Jersey, today, Saturday and Sunday.

A variety of guest musicians will be performing at the concerts, including frequent David Bowie collaborator Tony Visconti, Renaissance frontwoman Annie Haslam, ex-Peter Gabriel synth player Larry Fast and Hooters singer/guitarist Eric Bazilian.

The Strawbs also will be welcoming back a number of former members at the shows, including keyboardist Blue Weaver, who played with the band from 1971 to 1973, then joined The Bee Gees‘ backing group for several years.

On Friday, Visconti, who produced several of The Strawbs’ early-’70s albums, will join the band’s current lineup and several guest musicians for a performance of some of the group’s classic songs with accompaniment from the Terra Nova Orchestra. Tony will conduct the orchestra.

Saturday’s highlights will include an acoustic Strawbs set featuring vocals from Haslam, a duo performance by Strawbs frontman Dave Cousins and Fast, a performance of the group’s entire 1972 album Grave New World and a grand finale celebrating the band’s 50-year history and featuring guest artists and appearance by the UN Singers choir.
